Refined-rustic Greek-villa update by Kapsimalis Architects

The paneled wooden doorways and window frames are reproductions, painted to match the ocean and sky on Sikinos, some of the secluded of the Cycladic Islands. However removed from being a cookie-cutter replace, what’s outstanding about this historic villa replace by Marianna Kapsimali and Alexandros Kapsimalis of Kapsimalis Architects is its deft melding of previous and current—and sense of restraint.

“We search the values and customs, the outdated aesthetics and pre-existing reminiscences, the development methods and supplies of every place so as to present them in a contemporary twist,”  write the architects, whose agency is 10 years outdated. “The needs and hidden needs of future customers are blended with the mission’s background in quest of a brand new notion of house and id.”

As the nippiness encroaches, be a part of us for a fond look again at easy, subtle indoor-outdoor dwelling, Greek island fashion.
